Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has called on Apo Mechanic Traders to direct their grievances through official channels for resolution.
Addressing protesters in Abuja over the prolonged delay in their relocation since 2006, Wike cautioned against actions that could hinder government efforts, emphasizing the need for formal communication.
Despite some protesters expressing support for Wike’s initiatives, the Minister reiterated his stance against intimidation tactics, urging the traders to follow due process.
He emphasized the importance of constructive dialogue over disruptive demonstrations, highlighting the necessity of government support without obstruction.
In response, Chairman of the traders Association, Mr Chimezie Ife, reiterated the traders’ frustrations after years of waiting for their permanent business environment.
Having invested significant sums while awaiting relocation, Ife expressed hope that Minister Wike would address their longstanding issue.
The call for dialogue echoes Wike’s commitment to resolving issues through official channels, fostering a productive relationship between the government and the traders’ community.
