In a distressing turn of events, the Agric Department Strategic food store situated in Tasha, Abuja, fell victim to an impulsive attack on the evening of March 2nd, 2024. The incident, orchestrated by a group of irate mobs, resulted in the wanton vandalism and looting of the warehouse.
The FCT Police Command swiftly responded to the situation, ensuring the restoration of normalcy in the area. According to the Command’s spokesperson Josephine Adeh , fifteen suspects have been apprehended in connection with the reprehensible act. Among the arrested individuals are two local security guards who were employed by the warehouse management.
During the course of the investigation, law enforcement authorities managed to recover significant exhibits from the suspects. These include twenty-six bags of maize, five motorcycles, and various vandalized aluminum roofings.
The Command, through its Public Relations Officer (PPRO), assures the public that the situation is now firmly under control. Measures have been put in place to prevent any further escalation of violence or criminal activities in the area.
As investigations continue, the FCT Police Command urges members of the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities promptly.
