TROOPS DISLODGE TERRORISTS’ ENCLAVE IN ZAMFARA, ANNIHILATE TERRORISTS, RECOVER ARMS, SEVERAL MOTORBIKES


Nigerian Army troops engaged in Counter-terrorism Counter-insurgency operations in the North West region achieved a significant victory on Monday, April 15, 2024.

They successfully penetrated a terrorists’ enclave situated in Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State, dismantling the camp and eliminating the terrorists.

Acting on actionable intelligence regarding the terrorists’ activities, the troops launched a targeted clearance operation to dismantle the suspected operational base in Maru.

Engaging the terrorists in a fierce gun battle, the brave troops neutralized 12 terrorists, forcing the remaining militants to retreat.

Additionally, the operation led to the recovery of one AK-47 rifle, one magazine, 12 rounds of 7.62mm (Special) ammunition, and two locally fabricated guns.

Furthermore, the troops seized 10 operational motorbikes utilized by the terrorists for mobility, along with 18 rustled cows. Following the dislodgment of the terrorists, the troops destroyed their base.

This successful operation underscores the unwavering dedication of our troops in the fight against terrorism and insurgency.
