President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended warm congratulations to Mallam Mele Kolo Kyari, the Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), on the occasion of his 60th birthday, marked on January 8.
In a statement, the President lauded Kyari’s unwavering commitment and diligence in steering the NNPCL towards profitability and transformation.
President Tinubu highlighted the notable milestones achieved under Kyari’s leadership, including the revival of two refineries, the significant increase in domestic natural gas utilization, and the boost in crude oil production to 1.8 million barrels per day, despite initial skepticism in some quarters.
The President praised Kyari’s professionalism and exemplary service throughout his illustrious career at the NNPC, OPEC, and as the first Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPCL.
“Mele Kyari embodies the ideals of the Renewed Hope Agenda. His dedication to creating new opportunities and driving the growth and sustainability of Nigeria’s energy sector is commendable,” President Tinubu said.
He concluded by praying to Almighty Allah to bless Kyari with continued good health, wisdom, and strength to serve the nation and mentor the next generation of leaders in the energy industry.
