The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, Ph.D, has extended warm congratulations to the Awujale and Paramount Ruler of Ijebuland, Oba Dr. Sikiru Kayode Adetona, on his 90th birthday.
In a statement issued on Saturday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Musa Abdullahi Krishi, Speaker Abbas hailed Oba Adetona as a highly respected traditional ruler whose reign has had a profound impact on Ijebuland and the nation at large.
The Speaker praised Oba Adetona as a hero of democracy in Nigeria, whose wealth of experience in leadership, discipline, and patriotism continues to inspire the people and government.
Speaker Abbas also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for conferring the prestigious Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger (GCON) on Oba Adetona, describing it as an honor well deserved.
The Speaker prayed for Oba Adetona’s continued good health, long life, and prosperity in his kingdom.
