The President of Senate Godswill Akpabio has announced Sen Opeyemi Bamidele from Ekiti state as majority leader of the 10th Senate.
Akpabio made the announcement during plenary in Abuja after returning from the Eid-El Kabir break.
He said the All Progressives Congress (APC) caucus of the Senate after consultations has emerged with their leadership which would serve as the fulcrum of commencing other businesses of the chamber.
Senator Akpabio expressed joy that senator Opeyemi Bamidele emerged as the consensus Senate majority Leader
Others are:
” Senator Mohammed Ndume ,Chief Whip of the Senate, Senator David Umahi the Deputy Leader and Senator Lola Ashiru Deputy Chief Whip.
Akpabio also announced Senator Simon Mwadkwon from plateau state as Senate Minority Leader.
Akpabio made the announcement after a closed-door session which lasted about 10 minutes.
He also announced Senator Oyewumi Olalere as Deputy Minority Leader; Senator Darlington Nwokocha as Minority Whip while Senator Rufai Hanga is the Deputy Minority Whip.
