Rev. Adeeko Urges Christians to Embrace Abundant Provision in Christ

The Senior Pastor of Refreshing Word Christian Center, Kubwa, Abuja, Rev. Dr. Taiwo Adeeko, has charged Christians to fully embrace and take possession of the abundant provision made available to them through Christ.

Speaking during the Sunday service at the church, Rev. Dr. Adeeko delivered a sermon titled “Things That Are Ours in Christ: Abundant Provision,” anchored on 2 Peter 1:3, where he emphasized that God has already given believers everything that pertains to life and godliness.

The cleric explained that lack is not a result of God’s failure to provide, but often a consequence of believers’ inability to take possession of what God has already made available. According to him, economic challenges should not define the lives of believers, as ignorance of God’s word, rather than the economy, is a major cause of lack.

Quoting Matthew 6:32–33, Rev. Dr. Adeeko admonished Christians to prioritize seeking God rather than relying solely on human understanding. He noted that walking in God’s way attracts God’s reward, while depending on human systems yields only human results.

Drawing from Genesis 2:8–12, he highlighted that God’s original plan for mankind was abundance, pointing out that the first place God settled man contained gold. He further cited Psalm 34:8–10 and Psalm 37:18–19, assuring congregants that those who seek the Lord will not lack any good thing and will not be ashamed, regardless of prevailing economic conditions.

The pastor also referenced 2 Corinthians 8:9, stressing that Christ took on poverty so believers could experience richness, and questioned the depth of believers’ understanding of how rich God truly is, citing Psalm 24:1, John 16:15, and John 17:10, which affirm that everything belongs to God.

Rev. Dr. Adeeko stated that ignorance, not education alone, keeps many people poor, adding that biblical accounts such as Haggai 2:8, John 12:6, John 13:29, and Matthew 27:35 reveal God’s consistent provision, even in difficult circumstances.

He urged believers to have unwavering faith in God’s word, noting that belief activates divine direction and revelation on how to access God’s provision. He encouraged congregants to stop speaking negatively about themselves and to allow God to use people to bless them, rather than running after human help, referencing Luke 8:2–3.

Concluding the message, Rev. Dr. Adeeko called for a mindset shift among believers, urging them to stop identifying themselves as poor and to consciously take possession of their inheritance in Christ.
