PSC Announces Rescheduled Dates for Constable Recruitment Medical Screening

In a recent announcement by the Police Service Commission, aspiring candidates for the Nigeria Police Force Constable cadre recruitment have been informed of a rescheduled date for the medical screening/examination.

The screening, initially slated to commence earlier, has been moved to accommodate the ongoing Muslim Ramadan fast and the Christian lenten period.

Scheduled to kick off on Tuesday, April 16th, 2024, the two-week-long screening process aims to ensure the successful conclusion of the recruitment exercise.

Candidates from various regions will undergo medical examinations, with special consideration given to those from states grappling with heightened security challenges, including Kaduna, Yobe, and Zamfara.

Additionally, specialist applicants who underwent physical and credentials screenings but were not involved in the JAMB-conducted Computer-Based Tests (CBT) will undergo practical tests alongside medical screenings during this period.

The screenings will take place across the 17 Zonal Command Headquarters of the Nigeria Police Force and designated Police Colleges, providing accessible venues for the rigorous assessments.

Dr. Solomon Arase CFR, retired Inspector General of Police and Chairman of the Police Service Commission, expressed satisfaction at the imminent conclusion of the recruitment exercise.

He emphasized the importance of meticulous candidate selection to meet international standards and address local security challenges, aiming to cultivate a cadre of committed young Nigerians to bolster the nation’s security architecture.

Acknowledging the vital role of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) in conducting the CBT, Dr. Arase commended Prof. Ishaq Oloyede and his management team for ensuring the success and reliability of computer-based examinations in the country.

Shortlisted candidates can expect detailed communication from the Police Recruitment Board regarding the venue and schedule for their screenings.

Successful candidates will proceed to mandatory training at Police Colleges, contributing to the augmentation of law enforcement efforts across Nigeria.

As the nation looks forward to welcoming a new cohort of police recruits, the emphasis remains on fostering a robust and capable security apparatus to safeguard communities and tackle emerging threats effectively.
