President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has assured Nigerians that the country will overcome its security challenges. Represented by Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, at the Regimental Dinner Night in Abuja, President Tinubu reiterated his commitment to providing the military with necessary resources to tackle security issues effectively.

The President commended the dedication and professionalism of the Nigerian armed forces, including those who have paid the ultimate price in service to their fatherland. He emphasized that the challenges ahead require courage, strength, innovation, and adaptability. President Tinubu also pledged to prioritize the welfare and wellbeing of armed forces personnel, ensuring they have necessary resources and support to carry out their duties effectively.

President Tinubu acknowledged the significance of the Armed Forces Celebration and Remembrance Day, highlighting the shared dedication to security and unity of the nation. He also recognized the sacrifices made by men and women who have served, emphasizing that the armed forces represent the cornerstone of national security, hope, peace, and integrity.

The President commended distinguished officers honored with awards by the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Christopher Musa, for their resilience and dedication. He urged them to remain steadfast, noting that their work contributes to national safety and serves as motivation for others. President Tinubu also called for support, charging Nigerians to strengthen bonds of friendship and mutual respect.

Responding to a request to increase budgetary allocations to the military, the Deputy Speaker assured that the request will be processed by the Legislature. He emphasized that the parliament collects needs analysis of security agencies to find solutions and address financial concerns.
President Tinubu’s assurance of overcoming security challenges aligns with his previous commitments to providing necessary support to the military. In December 2023, he reiterated his resolve to work assiduously and provide the military with necessary support to keep the country safe.
