Police Service Commission and Nigeria Police Force Strengthen Bonds for Enhanced Collaboration.


In a significant display of unity and collaboration, the Chairman of the Police Service Commission, Dr. Solomon Arase, along with the Commission’s Management team, warmly welcomed the Inspector General of Police, IGP Olukayode Egbetokun, and his team to the Commission’s Corporate Headquarters in Jabi, Abuja, on Tuesday, March 19th, 2024.

Dr. Arase, a retired Inspector General of Police himself, highlighted the strides made in stabilizing the relationship between the Police Service Commission and the Nigeria Police Force.

He emphasized the importance of both institutions working together seamlessly for the nation’s internal security.

Acknowledging that challenges may arise, Dr. Arase stressed that they are not insurmountable and encouraged unwavering support for the Inspector General from the Police Management Team.

He emphasized the need for evolving strategies and improved engagement between the two entities.

Moreover, Dr. Arase urged for cohesive teamwork between the legal teams of both institutions to prevent adverse judgments against police officers, which could impact the Commission’s accounts.

In response, IGP Egbetokun expressed gratitude for Dr. Arase’s leadership and guidance, noting his positive impact on the Police Force.

He affirmed the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to the collaborative effort, recognizing the importance of the Police Service Commission in their operations.

The renewed relationship between the Police Service Commission and the Nigeria Police Force has been warmly received, with both parties expressing eagerness for continued collaboration.

They agreed to hold quarterly meetings to address any outstanding issues promptly and ensure efficient policing for the nation.

The commitment to enhanced cooperation between these vital institutions signifies a positive step towards bolstering security efforts and fostering public trust in law enforcement.
