The Federal Ministry of Police Affairs, in conjunction with the Nigeria Police Academy (POLAC), Wudil, Kano State has dismissed a recent public disclaimer issued by the Police Service Commission (PSC) as misleading and without legal basis.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the ministry and the academy jointly reaffirmed that the application process for admission into the 12th Regular Course Degree Programmes of the academy remains valid, active, and fully in line with the stipulated guidelines of the National Universities Commission (NUC) and the Federal Ministry of Police Affairs.
“The attention of the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, Kano State, and the Federal Ministry of Police Affairs has been drawn to a misleading and inaccurate disclaimer issued by the Police Service Commission on 31st July 2025,” the statement read in part.
The ministry emphasized that the PSC has no constitutional role in university admission processes and therefore lacks the authority to issue such a disclaimer concerning the academy’s admission exercise.
It urged the general public and prospective applicants to disregard the PSC’s disclaimer, assuring that the online application portal remains open as previously announced.
“The admission process is ongoing and follows due process,” the statement reiterated, stressing that all guidelines are being observed in line with established academic and administrative standards.
The Ministry of Police Affairs also used the opportunity to encourage interested applicants to proceed with their applications without fear or confusion.
The statement was signed by Bolaji Oladimeji Kazeem, Director of Information and Public Relations Federal Ministry of Police Affairs.
