Police Affairs Minister, Gaidam, Mourns Former IGP Solomon Arase

The Minister of Police Affairs, Senator Ibrahim Gaidam, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of former Inspector-General of Police and Chairman of the Police Service Commission (PSC), Solomon Arase, describing his death as a great loss to the nation.

In a condolence message on behalf of the Police Ecosystem, Gaidam extended heartfelt sympathies to the Arase family, the government and people of Edo State, and Nigerians at large. He noted that Arase’s contributions to policing and national security left an indelible mark on the country.

“His service had a great impact in the protection of lives and property. He worked cordially with the Ministry in ensuring transparency during the 2024 police constable recruitment exercise. It is important to acknowledge the significance of his contributions and the impact of his passing on the nation,” the Minister said.

Gaidam described the late Arase as a true leader, a dedicated public servant, and a man of integrity whose legacy will continue to inspire future generations.

“This is a profound loss for our country. His dedication to public service and his unwavering commitment to the security sector will be remembered. Our hearts are heavy as we mourn the passing of a statesman who served with honor and integrity,” he stated.

The Minister prayed for comfort for the bereaved family and urged Nigerians to celebrate the life of Arase, whose leadership and sacrifices, he said, would never be forgotten.
