NNPC Ltd Demonstrates Commitment to Regulatory Excellence with NIMASA Certification

In a significant milestone, NNPC Ltd has obtained the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code Compliance certification from the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA). This achievement showcases the company’s dedication to process improvement, regulatory compliance, and performance excellence.

The certification, which covers all NNPC jetties nationwide, ensures business continuity and prevents potential operational disruptions and financial losses. This achievement demonstrates NNPC’s commitment to sustaining its march towards regulatory excellence and performance improvement according to a statement by Olufemi Soneye, Chief Corporate Communications Officer, NNPC Ltd, Abuja.

It also grants NNPC access to the Global Integrated Shipping Information System (GISIS), enhancing its reputation as a safe and reliable business destination and potentially reducing insurance premiums.

To achieve this certification, NNPC upgraded security facilities at ports and jetties, established an ISPS Code Command Center, and engaged a NIMASA Recognized Security Officer (RSO) to manage regulatory processes. The company also developed a Port Facility Security Assessment (PFSA) and Port Facility Security Plan (PFSP), and underwent a meticulous Verification Inspection Exercise (VIE) from NIMASA.

“This certification is a testament to our dedication to regulatory excellence,” said Mr. Inuwa Danladi, Executive Vice President, Business Services. “We will continue to strive for excellence in all our operations.”
