As part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.) and First Exploration & Production Limited (First E&P) Joint Venture (JV) have donated N53.4 million to non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in Nigeria.
The donation, made under the JV’s Impact First Initiative, aims to enhance societal welfare by addressing key areas such as healthcare, education, and economic growth. Speaking at the cheque presentation ceremony, NNPC Ltd.’s Chief Upstream Investment Officer (CUIO), Mr. Bala Wunti, commended First E&P for initiating the program and highlighted NNPC Ltd.’s commitment to CSR and sustainable development.
Wunti noted that the initiative has executed various projects, including the provision of classrooms, ICT centers, laboratories, and other infrastructural interventions, as well as scholarships, quiz competitions, skill acquisitions, and economic empowerment programs.
The beneficiaries of the donation include the Irede Foundation, Human Development Initiative (HDI), OISA Foundation, Cerebral Palsy Centre, and Niola Cancer Care Foundation. These organizations focus on providing support to vulnerable groups, including child amputees, people with cerebral palsy, and those affected by cancer.
The donation demonstrates NNPC Ltd.’s and First E&P’s commitment to giving back to the community and contributing to the well-being of Nigerians.
