NNPC E&P Limited Breaks Records with 355,000 bpd Production, Signals Nigeria’s Energy Revival

In a major boost for Nigeria’s energy sector, NNPC E&P Limited (NEPL) has hit a record production milestone of 355,000 barrels of oil per day (bpd) as of December 1, 2025—its highest daily output since 1989. This achievement marks a significant leap forward, with average daily production surging by 52% from 203,000 bpd in 2023 to 312,000 bpd in 2025.

The impressive growth is attributed to NEPL’s focus on operational excellence, strong asset management, and structured field development. According to Engr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari, Group CEO of NNPC Limited, this milestone proves that Nigeria’s energy revival is already underway. “NEPL’s delivery brings the country’s ambitious targets of 2 million bpd by 2027 and 3 million by 2030 closer to reality,” he stated.

The success is not just about numbers—it reflects a shift toward sustainable progress, prioritizing worker safety, community wellbeing, and environmental protection. Udy Ntia, Executive Vice President, Upstream, emphasized that NEPL is proving “sustainable progress must rest on responsible operations.”

Nicolas Foucart, MD of NEPL, highlighted that this achievement is driven by strong leadership, accountable partnerships, and a dedicated workforce. “For Nigerians, this means greater national revenue, stronger energy security, and a more resilient economic foundation,” he said.

With this record, NNPC E&P Limited is reigniting belief in Nigeria’s potential as a dependable energy supplier, reinforcing confidence both locally and globally. As the company continues to build for the future, the focus remains on turning goals into measurable progress, with sustainability at the core.
