In a bid to fortify the nation’s security infrastructure, the Honourable Minister of Defence, H.E. Muhammed Badaru, urged the National Space Defence Administration to embrace emerging technologies.
Addressing attendees at a two-day symposium on Defence Space Administration, Badaru emphasized the importance of leveraging technological advancements to counter evolving threats, including cyber-attacks and space-based challenges.
Badaru underscored the necessity of adapting to the fast-paced technological landscape to safeguard Nigeria’s defence infrastructure effectively.
“In today’s rapidly evolving world, where technological advancements are reshaping the landscape of national security, we must adapt and innovate to protect our defence infrastructure effectively,” he stated.
“It is crucial to stay ahead of the curve and harness the power of emerging technologies to fortify our defence and ensure the security of our nation.”
Acknowledging President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s support, Badaru highlighted the enabling environment provided for the Nigerian Armed Forces to operate efficiently.
He stressed that technology remains pivotal in combating insecurity, advocating for the enhancement of defence infrastructure to deploy new technologies effectively.
During the symposium, attendees were treated to a tour of exhibition stands showcasing military equipment developed by the Defence Space Administration.
Led by the Chief of Defence Space Administration, Air Vice Marshal AA Shinkafi, the exhibition highlighted innovations aimed at bolstering Nigeria’s defence capabilities.
