In a daring display of vigilance and swift action, Nigerian Army troops successfully foiled a kidnapping attempt along the Nasarawa-Keffi Road, adjacent to the Federal Polytechnic in Nasarawa State.
The operation, conducted on Thursday, April 4, 2024, during a routine patrol in the Nassarawa Local Government Area, led to the safe rescue of a civilian who had fallen prey to the criminals’ scheme.
According to reports, the troops, alerted by vigilant community members, swiftly intervened as the criminals attempted to abduct the unsuspecting civilian.
Engaging the perpetrators in a shootout, the troops managed to rescue the victim and apprehend one of the suspected kidnappers.
During the exchange of fire, the captured suspect sustained injuries and has since been evacuated alongside the rescued victim, who suffered minor injuries during the foiled abduction, to a medical facility for prompt medical attention.
