The Nigerian Army has dismissed claims circulating online about the commencement of recruitment for its Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) and Short Service Commission (SSC) for 2025, describing them as false and misleading.
In a statement released on Friday, the Acting Director of Army Public Relations, Lieutenant Colonel Appolonia Anele, urged members of the public to disregard the fake advertisement, stressing that no such recruitment exercise is currently ongoing.
“The attention of the Nigerian Army has been drawn to a fake advertisement circulating online, falsely claiming that the ‘Nigerian Army DSSC/SSC Application Form 2025’ is available. This claim is entirely false and misleading,” the statement read.
Lt. Col. Anele assured that whenever a legitimate recruitment exercise is scheduled, it will be announced through official channels with adequate publicity. She cautioned Nigerians to remain vigilant and avoid falling victim to fraudsters seeking to exploit the false information.
The Army also called on individuals with useful information about such fraudulent activities to report promptly to the appropriate authorities for necessary action.
