MINISTER OF DEFENCE URGES TROOPS TO MAINTAIN VIGILANCE FOR A SECURE NIGERIA


In a rallying call to the troops of Operation HADARIN DAJI, the Honourable Minister of Defence,  Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, emphasized the paramount importance of their continuous efforts in ensuring the safety and security of Nigeria.

During his one-day working visit to the Headquarters of 8 Division and Operation HADARIN DAJI’s Area of Responsibility in Sokoto State, Minister Badaru praised the troops for their unwavering commitment and remarkable achievements in quelling insecurity, particularly in the North West region.

Acknowledging the challenges faced by the military, Minister Badaru assured the troops of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s steadfast dedication to their welfare and the resolution of operational hurdles.

He highlighted the exceptional synergy among security agencies, crediting it as a significant factor in the successes achieved in combating insurgency and related criminal activities across the nation.

Minister Badaru emphasized the need for continued collaboration, determination, and equipped readiness to overcome prevailing security challenges, expressing optimism that with concerted efforts, these challenges would soon be overcome.

He conveyed the government’s profound gratitude to the troops for their sacrifices and unwavering resolve in safeguarding the nation.

During his visit, Minister Badaru was briefed by Major General Godwin Mutkut, the General Officer Commanding 8 Division and Commander of Joint Task Force (North West) Operation HADARIN DAJI, on the operational activities, achievements, and existing challenges faced by the operation.

Prior to his engagements with the military, Minister Badaru paid courtesy visits to His Eminence Alhaji Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar, the Sultan of Sokoto, and His Excellency Alhaji Idris Mohammed Gobir, the Deputy Governor of Sokoto State.

These visits underscored the importance of collaborative efforts between the military and local authorities in tackling insecurity.

Minister Badaru urged for the continued support of the Sultan of Sokoto and the Deputy Governor of Sokoto State, rallying their backing for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda in the fight against insecurity, not only in the North West but for the entire nation.

The visit concluded with renewed determination from the Minister and a reassurance of the government’s unwavering support for the troops and their families in their noble mission of safeguarding Nigeria’s peace and security.
