In an official working visit over the weekend, the Minister of Defence, Muhammed Badaru Abubakar, undertook a tour of several key military facilities in Kano State.
The purpose of the tour was to gain insight into the operations and conditions of various military formations while also fostering encouragement and support for the personnel tasked with securing the nation.
The tour encompassed significant establishments including the 3 Brigade of the Nigerian Army situated at Bukavo Baracks Kano, the Nigerian Air Force 455 Base Kano, and the Nigerian Navy Logistics Colleges in Dawakin Tofa, Kano State.
At the 3 Brigade of the Nigerian Army, Brigadier General M A Sadiq, the Commander of the Brigade, provided a comprehensive overview of the facilities to the Minister, showcasing the capabilities and readiness of the brigade.
Moving on to the Nigerian Air Force 455 Base Kano, Group Captain M. Suleimán, the base commander, briefed the Minister on the operational status and challenges faced by the base, offering insights into the day-to-day operations and strategic importance of the facility.
The tour culminated at the Nigerian Navy Logistics Colleges in Dawakin Tofa, where Commodore JK Adedaji, the institution’s commander, highlighted the academic activities and infrastructure developments within the college to the Minister, emphasizing its role in training future naval personnel.
Following the tour, the Minister commended the dedication and professionalism exhibited by the military personnel across the visited formations.
He stressed the importance of vigilance and proactivity in safeguarding the nation against both internal and external security threats.
Furthermore, the Minister reiterated the government’s commitment, led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, to provide necessary resources and support to the military in executing their duties effectively.
He emphasized the importance of collaboration and synergy among all branches of the military to ensure the success of national security efforts.
The visit underscored the government’s unwavering commitment to enhancing the operational capabilities of the Nigerian military in line with its Renewed Hope Agenda, aimed at safeguarding the nation and promoting peace and stability within the region.
