The Nigerian military continues to disrupt terrorist activities and other forms of criminality through ongoing operations across the country.
In the week under review, troops made significant gains by neutralizing 96 criminals, arresting 227 individuals, and rescuing 157 kidnapped hostages.
Among the key achievements, five leaders of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its militant wing, Eastern Security Network (ESN), were eliminated.
Additionally, in the North-Central region, a notorious terrorist commander, Usman Maisaje, was apprehended. Maisaje is a close associate of the wanted high-profile terrorist, Kachalla Boka.
His arrest has proven valuable, as he is currently cooperating with military personnel by providing critical intelligence for ongoing operations.
In efforts to combat oil theft, troops in the South-South region arrested 45 perpetrators and prevented the theft of oil products worth over ₦712 million.
They also recovered 712,535 liters of stolen crude oil and 76,800 liters of illegally refined Automotive Gas Oil (AGO).
Furthermore, military forces recovered a significant cache of weapons, including 50 AK-47 rifles, 16 fabricated rifles, and over 1,400 rounds of assorted ammunition.
Additionally, troops destroyed illegal refining sites, confiscated boats, vehicles, motorcycles, and other items linked to criminal activities.
The military leadership reiterated its commitment to continuing these operations to degrade the operational capabilities of terrorists and dismantle the infrastructure that supports them.
Major General Edward Buba, Director of Defence Media Operations, emphasized that the military will maintain relentless pressure to ensure the nation’s security.
