Mattawale  Reaffirms Northern Region Support For President Tinubu Amid Political Turbulence

The Northern region’s support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains steadfast and unyielding, declared Dr. Bello Muhammed Matawalle, the Honourable Minister of State for Defence, in a press release today. Amidst growing political strife and efforts to undermine the President’s leadership, Dr. Matawalle denounced these actions as mere power plays by unpatriotic politicians with an entitlement mentality.

Dr. Matawalle emphasized the numerous benefits the North has received under President Tinubu’s administration, including key strategic appointments and substantial infrastructural developments. He listed several notable Northern figures in crucial government positions:

Highlighting the President’s commitment to security, Dr. Matawalle outlined Tinubu’s efforts in strategic policy development, counter-terrorism initiatives, capacity building, community engagement, regional security cooperation, humanitarian support, oversight, and coordination within the defence sector.

Dr. Matawalle urged Northern political leaders to rally behind President Tinubu, supporting his Renewed Hope Agenda aimed at revitalizing Nigeria’s economy and political landscape. He praised Tinubu’s dedication to the North, noting the region’s significant representation in the government.

As an ardent supporter of President Tinubu’s administration, Dr. Matawalle dismissed any attempts to unseat the President as futile. He assured that no amount of political machinations or blackmail would deter Tinubu from contesting the presidential election in 2027.

“The campaign by a select group of Northern politicians uncomfortable with President Tinubu’s governance style is merely a power play by unpatriotic politicians lacking grassroots support,” Dr. Matawalle stated. “Let us unite around President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR to salvage our battered economy and politics.”
