In a recent press release from the Ministry of Defence, the Honourable Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello Muhammed Matawalle, has praised the relentless efforts of the Nigerian Armed Forces in combatting terrorism, particularly in Zamfara, Sokoto, Katsina, and Kaduna States.
Dr. Matawalle expressed confidence that the days of terrorists are numbered, offering hope for renewed peace across the nation.
The Minister specifically highlighted the precision air strikes carried out by the Armed Forces in Zurmi, Gusau, and Maradun Local Government Areas, resulting in the elimination of numerous terrorists and the destruction of their infrastructure.
He also commended the successful clearance exercises conducted in the aforementioned states, aimed at eradicating the menace of banditry.
Acknowledging the dedication and precision exhibited by the servicemen and women involved in the operations,
Dr. Matawalle revealed the successful neutralization of prominent terrorist figures, Abdullahi Nasanda and Mallam Tukur.
He extended his gratitude to all personnel engaged in these operations, as well as the collaborative efforts of intelligence agencies and local security partners.
With optimism, Dr. Matawalle asserted the Nigerian Military’s strong position in winning the war against insurgency and terrorism, emphasizing the significant progress made in eliminating terrorist leaders.
