Matawalle Condemns Amaechi for Inciting Violence

The Honourable Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello Muhammed Matawalle, has strongly criticized recent comments made by former Minister of Transport, Rt. Hon. Rotimi Amaechi, accusing him of inciting violence and unrest among the Nigerian populace.

Dr. Matawalle issued a stern warning to Amaechi, urging him to desist from making inflammatory remarks that could destabilize the nation.

In a statement by Henshaw Ogubike
Director of Information and Public Relations, Ministry of Defence, Dr. Matawalle expressed grave concern over the potential dangers posed by Amaechi’s rhetoric.

“It is both reckless and irresponsible for a former public servant of Amaechi’s stature to incite Nigerians against their own government,” he said.

The Minister stressed that at a time when President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is actively addressing the nation’s challenges through reforms, any attempt to exploit the current situation for political gain is unacceptable.

“It is absurd and shameful for anyone to exploit the genuine struggles of our citizens for selfish political gain,” Matawalle added.

The Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to safeguarding the peace and security of every Nigerian.

He made it clear that any attempt to provoke violence or manipulate public sentiments for personal or political advantage will not be tolerated. “This serves as a final warning to Amaechi and his cohorts,” Dr. Matawalle declared.

He urged the former minister to cease casting aspersions on the government’s efforts and instead work towards moving the country forward.
