Matawalle Commends Military for Neutralizing Bandit Leaders, Vows Continued Support


The Honourable Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello Muhammed Matawalle, has praised the Nigerian military for its recent success in neutralizing key bandit leaders in the North-West region.

During a security engagement in Sokoto State, Dr. Matawalle reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to eradicating banditry and restoring peace to the region.

At a formal ceremony held at the Sokoto State Government House, Dr. Matawalle oversaw the handover of 10 operational vehicles to the military, including 8 Buffalo trucks and 2 Toyota Hilux pickups, which were donated by the Sokoto State Government. Commending the state’s consistent support, he stated, “The security of our nation demands collective effort.

The Sokoto State Government’s contribution will significantly enhance the operational capacity of our forces across the North-West.”

The Minister emphasized that the new vehicles would improve troop mobility and efficiency in responding to security threats.

Following the handover, he received an operational briefing from the Air Component of Joint Operation Hadarin Daji, during which he was informed of the recent success in air and ground strikes that resulted in the elimination of high-profile bandit leaders.

Dr. Matawalle expressed deep appreciation for the military’s professionalism and dedication, stating, “Your achievements are proof of your commitment to safeguarding our nation.

The Federal Government will continue to provide unrelenting support to sustain these victories. We will not rest until peace is fully restored to the North-West.”

The Federal Government’s focus remains on intensifying military operations to ensure long-term stability in the region.
