The Honourable Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello Mohammad Matawalle, has called on security agencies to take decisive action in maintaining law and order in Osun State following recent disturbances in local government councils.
Expressing concern over the incidents, Matawalle urged security operatives to adopt proactive measures to prevent further escalation of violence in the state.
He condemned the loss of lives in the recent unrest and reiterated the federal government’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all citizens.
“The judiciary’s ruling is not only a demonstration of its independence but also aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration’s unwavering commitment to justice, equity, and the rule of law,” Matawalle stated.
“As the Minister of State for Defence, my duty includes the protection of lives and property across the country.”
The minister called on all stakeholders, including political leaders, community members, and civil society organizations, to embrace peaceful dialogue and respect the rule of law.
He emphasized the need for collaboration in fostering stability and development within Osun State.
Matawalle also appealed to residents of the state to remain calm and refrain from any actions that could heighten tensions.
