Julius Adamu Begins Consultative Tour, Seeks Support for 2026 Bwari Chairmanship Bid

As political activities gather momentum ahead of the 2026 Bwari Area Council elections, a leading chairmanship aspirant and former Speaker of the Bwari Legislative Arm, Hon. Chief Julius Adamu, has officially commenced a wide-reaching consultative tour to consolidate support for his ambition to lead the council.

The two-day tour, which took place on Wednesday, April 14 and Thursday, April 15, 2025, saw Hon. Adamu meeting with key political stakeholders, party executives, and grassroots leaders across the ten wards of the area council.

The tour began with courtesy visits to the incumbent Chairman of Bwari Area Council, Hon. Chief John Gabaya, and the Council Secretary, Hon. Eli Peter Kadanya, both of whom he acknowledged as pivotal figures in the political landscape of the council.

During the meeting, Adamu formally presented his People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Nomination and Expression of Interest Form, signaling his official entry into the race.

He used the occasion to seek their support, guidance, and fatherly blessings, emphasizing his respect for their leadership and the role they have played in shaping the council’s political direction.

“In Bwari Area Council, my relationship with many of you goes beyond politics. I am here not just as a politician but as a son of the soil seeking your partnership and support as we prepare for this journey together,” Adamu stated.

He stressed the need for party unity, especially as the PDP prepares for its primary elections. According to him, only a united front can secure the party’s victory in the February 2026 polls.

He urged fellow aspirants and party stakeholders to approach the process with a spirit of sportsmanship and collective interest.

“Our ultimate goal should be victory for the PDP. Whoever emerges as the party’s flagbearer should have the full backing of all stakeholders. We must not allow division to undermine our chances,” he said.

Hon. Adamu’s tour continued with strategic meetings held in all ten wards of the area council, where he met with PDP ward chairmen, executives, elders, youth leaders, and women mobilizers.

In each location, he reiterated his readiness to offer purposeful and inclusive leadership if elected chairman, promising to build on the development strides of the current administration.

He commended the incumbent Chairman, Hon. John Gabaya, for what he described as “visible and tangible progress” across the council and pledged to continue and expand on those achievements if given the opportunity to lead.

“My vision is to sustain and surpass the current pace of development. Bwari deserves continuous progress, and I am prepared to provide leadership that is accountable, transparent, and driven by the needs of our people,” Adamu assured.

The climax of the tour was a visit to the PDP Area Council office, where he was warmly received by the party chairman, Hon. Ali Emmanuel, and other council executives.

In his remarks, Hon. Emmanuel described Chief Julius Adamu as a dependable and grassroots-oriented leader who has remained consistent in his service to the party and the community.

“Chief Julius Adamu is a man we can always count on and hold by his word. His leadership experience and dedication to the PDP speak volumes. We appreciate his visit and wish him well in the forthcoming primaries,” the chairman said.

Adamu’s early start, broad consultations, and clear message of continuity, unity, and inclusive governance have positioned him as a major force in the race for the PDP chairmanship ticket in Bwari Area Council.

As the 2026 elections approach, political observers within and beyond the council are watching closely as he continues to galvanize support across all levels.
