International Cooperation Key to Nigerian Air Force Success, Says Defence Minister


Emphasizing the critical role of international partnerships, Nigeria’s Minister of Defence, Muhammed Badaru Abubakar, highlighted the significance of global cooperation during the 60th Anniversary Celebration of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF).

Speaking at the Third African Air Force Forum Conference at the International Conference Center in Abuja, Badaru underscored the importance of collaboration in enhancing the capabilities and effectiveness of the NAF.

Minister Badaru, serving as the Special Guest of Honour, lauded the Nigerian Air Force for its substantial contributions to national security, particularly in counter-terrorism efforts.

He praised the NAF’s role in combating banditry, kidnapping, and other criminal activities through joint efforts with international air forces.

The Minister also recognized the value of knowledge exchange facilitated by forums like the African Air Forces Forum.

Acknowledging the global and domestic security challenges, Badaru expressed confidence in the Nigerian Armed Forces’ resilience and capability to address these threats.

He highlighted the Federal Government’s significant investments in modernizing the NAF’s equipment and platforms, achieved through both local and international collaborations.

Reaffirming President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s dedication to eradicating insecurity, Badaru stated that restoring peace and security remains a top government priority.

He called for national unity and collective determination to support the Nigerian Armed Forces in their mission against terrorism and insurgency.

The event’s climax featured a tour of exhibition stands showcasing innovations in aviation technology by foreign aerospace firms.

Accompanying the Minister were the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Defence, the Chief of Defence Staff, and other Service Chiefs.
