IGP Mourns Passing of Retired Senior Officers, Extends Condolences to Families


The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, has expressed profound shock and sadness over the deaths of two retired senior officers of the Nigeria Police Force, Retired Deputy Inspector-General (DIG) Moses Ambakina Jitoboh and Retired Assistant Inspector-General (AIG) Pastor Bola Longe.

According to a statement issued by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, DIG Jitoboh passed away on Friday, December 27, 2024, following a brief illness, while AIG Longe died on Sunday, December 22, 2024.

DIG Moses Jitoboh, who retired in 2023, served as the Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of the Department of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) at the Force Headquarters.

He was widely recognized for his dedication and professionalism throughout his career. AIG Bola Longe, who retired in 2021, held key positions during his service, including Commissioner of Police in Nasarawa State and Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Federal Operations, at the Force Headquarters in Abuja.

In his message of condolence, the IGP described their passing as a significant loss, not just to their families but to the entire Nigeria Police Force.

“Their contributions to the Force, their unwavering dedication to service, and their integrity will never be forgotten,” the IGP remarked.

On behalf of the officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force, IGP Egbetokun extended heartfelt condolences to the families, friends, and colleagues of the deceased officers, praying for strength and solace during this difficult time. He also prayed for the peaceful repose of their souls.

The entire Police Force joins in mourning these esteemed officers whose lives exemplified service and commitment to the nation.
