The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D, NPM, has convened a strategic end-of-year conference with senior police officers at the Goodluck Ebele Peacekeeping Hall, Force Headquarters, Abuja.
The meeting, held on Tuesday, December 24, 2024, served as a platform to review the Nigeria Police Force’s 2024 accomplishments and outline strategies for the upcoming year.
In his opening remarks, the IGP lauded the dedication and resilience of police officers nationwide, emphasizing the Force’s significant strides in combating crime and fostering community trust.
According to the IGP, the year 2024 saw the arrest of 30,313 suspects for various crimes, the recovery of 1,984 firearms, and 23,250 rounds of ammunition. Additionally, 1,581 kidnapped victims were successfully rescued during police operations.
The IGP highlighted the importance of technology and innovation, stating that 2025 would focus on enhancing operational strategies through modern tools and practices.
He encouraged senior officers to adopt progressive approaches to crime prevention and investigation to improve efficiency and maintain public trust.
As the festive season approaches, the IGP assured citizens of the Force’s commitment to ensuring safety and security nationwide. He reaffirmed the Nigeria Police Force’s dedication to accountability, public collaboration, and effective service delivery.
The conference underscores the IGP’s commitment to continuous improvement within the Nigeria Police Force as it prepares to tackle the challenges of the coming year.
