IGP Egbetokun Salutes Workers’ Dedication on May Day, Reaffirms Commitment to Police Welfare


The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, has paid glowing tribute to Nigerian workers on the occasion of Workers’ Day, acknowledging their vital contributions to national development, peace, and stability.

In a statement released by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the IGP joined millions of Nigerians in celebrating workers across all sectors, with special recognition of the sacrifices made by officers of the Nigeria Police Force.

IGP Egbetokun praised the unwavering dedication and courage of police personnel who, he noted, continue to work under challenging conditions to safeguard lives and property across the country.

He emphasized that their commitment remains a cornerstone of Nigeria’s security architecture.

“Their resolve and dedication to duty are the bedrock of our nation’s stability,” the statement read. “The Force is dedicated to creating a workplace where our officers feel valued, respected, and empowered to serve the nation with integrity and pride.”

Reaffirming the Force’s pledge to officer welfare, the IGP assured that ongoing initiatives are in place to enhance the standard of living, improve the work environment, and promote the professional development of all police personnel.

The statement concluded with a warm message to all Nigerian workers, wishing them a happy and restful Workers’ Day on behalf of the entire Nigeria Police Force.
