Forensic fraud expert and economist, Her Royal Highness Erelu Dr. Pearl Chidinma Ogbulu, is set to unveil her latest work, Fraud Unmasked: Forensic Fraud Solutions, alongside convening the maiden edition of the First Joint Security Forensic Conference in Abuja.
The event, themed “One Nation, One Network”, will bring together stakeholders from Nigeria’s security, financial, and technology sectors to address what Dr. Ogbulu describes as one of the nation’s most pressing challenges — the persistent and evolving threat of fraud.
Speaking to journalists ahead of the conference, Dr. Ogbulu said the book is more than a publication; it is a practical toolkit designed to help institutions and individuals detect, prevent, and respond to fraud effectively. Drawing from her extensive experience in forensic accounting, risk management, and governance, she outlines tested investigative methods, policy recommendations, and preventive strategies.
“Fraud is a silent predator that drains resources, erodes public trust, and undermines national development,” she stated. “We cannot afford to treat it as someone else’s problem. It demands coordinated strategies, real-time data sharing, and united action.”
She added that royalty, in her view, goes beyond simply sitting in the palace; it means actively engaging in finding solutions to the challenges confronting the nation.
The conference, which will coincide with the book launch, aims to break the fragmented systems that often hinder Nigeria’s anti-fraud response. By fostering collaboration between law enforcement agencies, financial regulators, security services, technology experts, academic institutions, and civic bodies, the gathering seeks to create a more integrated national fraud prevention network.
Over the course of the event, experts in forensic science, cybersecurity, risk management, and governance will present practical tools and emerging technologies to strengthen fraud prevention systems in both the public and private sectors.
Dr. Ogbulu also called on policymakers to enact stronger laws, the private sector to invest in robust prevention mechanisms, and citizens to remain vigilant. She commended the media for its role in fostering accountability and keeping the public informed.
“With Fraud Unmasked and this conference, we are starting a movement toward a stronger, smarter, and more united fight against fraud,” she said. “This is about reclaiming what belongs to Nigeria — integrity, security, and trust.”
The First Joint Security Forensic Conference and the official launch of Fraud Unmasked are expected to draw a wide range of participants committed to advancing national resilience against fraud and insecurity.
