House of Reps Launches Investigation into Bobrisky’s EFCC Saga

The House of Representatives has launched an urgent investigation into shocking corruption allegations against the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Nigerian Correctional Service. At the center of the controversy is social media influencer Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, who allegedly had money laundering charges dropped by the EFCC after a N15 million payoff .

Martins Vincent Otse, aka VeryDarkMan, brought these explosive allegations to light, claiming that Bobrisky not only avoided punishment for money laundering but also didn’t serve time at the Nigerian Correctional Service after being convicted of abusing and defacing the Naira. This has raised serious concerns about Nigeria’s reputation and the integrity of its law enforcement agencies.

Representative Patrick Umoh from Akwa Ibom State expressed distress over the allegations, emphasizing the negative impact on Nigeria’s image as a nation. The House has mandated its Committees on Financial Crimes and Reformatory Institutions to thoroughly investigate these claims and report back within three legislative weeks.

The investigation aims to uncover the truth behind the alleged bribery and corruption, ensuring accountability and justice. The Committees will scrutinize the EFCC’s handling of Bobrisky’s case and verify whether the Nigerian Correctional Service followed proper procedures.

As the investigation unfolds, Nigerians await answers on the integrity of their law enforcement agencies. The outcome will have significant implications for the country’s fight against corruption and its international reputation.
