Addressing stakeholders at the 40th-anniversary celebration of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), held at the Merit House in Maitama, Abuja, the Minister underscored the pivotal role of community policing in enhancing transparency, accountability, and public trust in law enforcement.
Highlighting the significant contributions of the PCRC over the past four decades, Hajia Imaan Sulaimon-Ibrahim hailed the organization’s efforts in fostering collaboration between the police force and local communities.
She emphasized the importance of open dialogue, community engagement, and proactive crime prevention measures in bridging the gap between law enforcement agencies and the public.
The Minister expressed profound appreciation to the men and women of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) for their dedication and sacrifices in maintaining law and order.
She reaffirmed the government’s commitment to implementing the Renewed Hope Police Reform and Transformation, with community policing as a cornerstone component.
This comprehensive reform agenda, structured around five pillars, aims to create a world-class police force that is inclusive, intelligence-led, and community-oriented.
Furthermore, Hajia Imaan Sulaimon-Ibrahim reiterated the government’s pledge to undertake deep-rooted reforms within the Nigeria Police Force, supported by innovative resource mobilization and allocation strategies.

In response, the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, expressed gratitude to the PCRC for its partnership and support in implementing community policing strategies.
The National Chairman of the PCRC, Alhaji Mogaji Ibraheem Olaniyan, commended the Ministry of Police Affairs and the Nigeria Police Force for their continued support and advocated for additional resources to further the PCRC’s mission.
