FCT Police Foil Child Trafficking Attempt, Hand Over Suspects and Victims to Sokoto State Police


In a swift operation, the FCT Police Command intercepted two female suspects, Kulu Dogonyaro and Elizabeth Ojah, on April 27, 2024, at approximately 8:00 p.m.

The suspects were apprehended at Kagini junction, Abuja, while attempting to traffic five children into the Federal Capital Territory.

The arrest came after the suspects evaded capture by Sokoto State Police operatives, prompting FCT Police intervention.

The suspects, believed to be part of a child trafficking syndicate, were promptly detained by FCT Police operatives.

In a gesture of cooperation and solidarity, the FCT Police Command has transferred both the suspects and the rescued children to the Sokoto State Police Command for further investigation and prosecution.

Commissioner of Police FCT, CP Benneth C. Igweh, psc, mni, emphasized the importance of parental vigilance in safeguarding children and reiterated the commitment of the FCT Police to ensuring the safety of residents.

He urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities.
