FCT Police Command Welcomes New Commissioner, CP Ajao Saka Adewale


The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has officially welcomed Commissioner of Police (CP) Ajao Saka Adewale, psc, mnips, as its new head, following the redeployment of his predecessor, AIG Olatunji Disu, psc.

CP Ajao, who becomes the 33rd Commissioner of Police for the FCT Command, took over leadership on March 26, 2025. With over 30 years of experience in law enforcement, he brings a wealth of expertise in crime prevention, tactical operations, and intelligence-led policing.

Born on November 28, 1968, in Boripe Local Government Area of Osun State, CP Ajao holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography Education from the University of Ilorin. He joined the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) on June 10, 1994, undergoing training at the Nigeria Police Academy before beginning his career at the Oyo State Command.

Over the years, he has held key positions across various police formations, including:

  • Commissioner of Police, Surveillance Squad, Akwa Ibom State Command
  • Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Zonal CID, Zone 2, Lagos
  • DCP, Airport Command, Lagos State
  • Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Rapid Response Squad, Lagos State
  • ACP, Special Fraud Unit, Force CID, Abuja

CP Ajao has also attended several specialized courses, including FBI Scene of Crime Examination & Preservation, Tactical Leadership Command Course (Jaji, Kaduna), and Community Policing Field Trainers Course (Lagos).

Upon assuming duty, CP Ajao pledged to uphold law and order, protect lives and property, and strengthen police-community relations in the FCT. He called for continued support and cooperation from residents to enhance security in the nation’s capital.

The FCT Police Command, through its Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring a safer and more secure environment under the leadership of CP Ajao.
