In a bid to bolster security within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), the FCT Police Command, under the leadership of Commissioner of Police, CP Benneth Igweh, took decisive action on April 1st, 2024, to address the growing concerns of criminal activities in Apo-resettlement and its surrounding areas.
The operation, spearheaded by CP Igweh himself, saw a strategic clearance of hills and thick bushes in Zones A and B of Apo-resettlement, known to serve as hideouts for criminals and suspected kidnappers.
Illegal structures were demolished, and the areas were thoroughly secured through proactive deployment of police operatives for surveillance patrols.
CP Igweh emphasized that the police force is committed to ensuring the safety and security of FCT residents, leaving no stone unturned in the fight against crime.
He reiterated that criminals seeking to disrupt the peace of the region will face swift and decisive action from law enforcement.
Residents were urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities promptly using the provided emergency contact numbers.
The police assured the public of their readiness to respond to calls and maintain a constant presence to safeguard communities.
SP Josephine Adeh, speaking on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, emphasized the importance of community cooperation in maintaining security, urging residents to partner with law enforcement agencies to combat crime effectively.
