FCC Appointments: Kalu Applauds Tinubu, Congratulates Oriaku as Abia Commissioner

Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, has lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing Mr. Obinna Oriaku as the Commissioner representing Abia State at the Federal Character Commission (FCC).

In a statement signed by Levinus Nwabughiogu, Chief Press Secretary to the Deputy Speaker on Wednesday, Kalu described Oriaku — a former Commissioner for Finance in Abia — as a “round peg in a round hole,” commending the President’s choice as both strategic and merit-based.

Kalu, who represents Bende Federal Constituency of Abia State, also congratulated other appointees from the South East, noting that the selection reflected President Tinubu’s commitment to inclusivity and balanced regional representation.

“This development speaks to the visionary leadership of President Tinubu, whose benevolence has continued to spread across the region,” Kalu said, expressing confidence in Oriaku’s “intellectual competence and technical expertise” to excel in his new role and make Abia proud.

The Deputy Speaker urged the people of the South East to continue supporting the President as he drives the Renewed Hope Agenda.
