DSS urge political actors to play according to the rules of engagement.


The Department of State Services DSS has urged political actors to play the game according to the rules of engagement while carrying out their campaigns ahead of the 2023 general election.

 

This is contained in a statement by the Public Relations Officer, Peter Afunanya, and made available to newsmen in Abuja.

 

The DSS further urges political actors to shun fake news, hate speech, violence and acts inimical to national security.

 

The service also stresses the need

for players in the socio-economic sector to avoid manipulative tendencies that could result in undue price hikes, artificial scarcity of products, goods and situations that may lead to heightened tensions in the country.

 

The DSS while calling on citizens and residents alike to be of good conduct for public peace and order as the yultide season approaches reiterates the commitment of the serviice to collaborate with all stakeholders to maintain law and order across the country.

 

The statement also charges community, religious and political bodies and leaders to preach peaceful coexistence, tolerance and unity as well as enlighten their members on safety measures during and after the season.
