DHQ Intensifies Hunt for Kurmin Wali Kidnap Victims

The Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN) has assured residents of Kurmin Wali and the general public of its unwavering commitment to the safe rescue and reintegration of victims abducted from the community.

This is contained in a statement by the Director Defence Media Operations Major General Michael Onoja in Abuja.

The AFN acknowledged the concerns of displaced residents regarding the ongoing operations and emphasized that the safety of the kidnapped individuals remains a top priority.

Contrary to claims of a reduced response, the military said it has been conducting sustained, intelligence-driven operations in the forested areas and surroundings believed to be harboring the perpetrators.

These operations combine ground patrols, surveillance, intelligence gathering, and targeted interventions, all carefully planned to locate the kidnappers while minimizing risks to the captives.

The AFN noted that in certain instances, operational restraint is a deliberate strategy aimed at safeguarding hostages and preventing collateral damage.

While specific operational details remain classified for security reasons, the military confirmed that significant efforts are underway to dismantle the criminal networks responsible for the abductions.

Major General Michael Onoja, reiterated the military’s steadfast mandate to protect lives and property, urging the public to continue supporting ongoing efforts and exercising patience as operations progress toward a safe resolution.

“The Armed Forces of Nigeria remain fully committed to reuniting the kidnapped victims with their families,” the statement read, emphasizing the importance of community cooperation in ensuring the success of the rescue operations.
