In a bid to ensure peace and security, Nigerian troops are actively engaged in multiple theaters of operation across the country, targeting terrorist elements and their collaborators.

Major General Edward Buba, Director of Defence Media Operations, announced significant strides in the ongoing operations, particularly in the hunt for notorious terrorist leader Halilu Buzu.

Halilu Buzu, a high-value target and cattle rustler notorious for his illegal activities, including arms trafficking and gold mining, has been declared wanted.

Operating from his base in Subbubu Forest within Zamfara State, Buzu has been linked to numerous attacks, including the recent massacre of 19 villagers in Farar Kasa.

Buzu’s elusive nature, often seeking refuge across the border in the Republic of Niger, poses a challenge for Nigerian authorities.

However, the military’s resolve to apprehend him remains unwavering, with calls for collaboration with Nigerien authorities to ensure accountability for his atrocities.

In the past week alone, Nigerian troops have neutralized 227 terrorists, arrested 529 individuals, and rescued 253 kidnapped hostages.

Additionally, significant quantities of weapons, ammunition, and stolen oil have been seized, further debilitating the capabilities of terrorist networks.

Despite the commendable progress, Major General Buba acknowledges the arduous task ahead, emphasizing the need to eliminate remaining terrorist elements and recover more weapons.

The dedication of Nigerian troops to the cause remains steadfast, demonstrated by their resilience and unwavering focus on achieving lasting peace and security.

Amidst these operations, Nigeria welcomed the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan, whose visit underscored the importance of supporting veterans and addressing the challenges they face.

Major General Buba expressed gratitude for their advocacy and pledged continued collaboration to serve those who have served the nation.

As Nigerian troops continue their battle against terrorism, their commitment to protecting citizens and restoring stability remains paramount.

With a united front and unwavering determination, Nigeria is steadfast in its resolve to defeat terrorism and safeguard its people.
