In anticipation of Easter celebrations, the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, has called upon citizens, particularly the Christian community, to reflect on the values exemplified by Jesus Christ and to spread love and hope throughout Nigeria.
According to Mr. Levinus Nwabughiogu, Chief Press Secretary to the Deputy Speaker, Kalu emphasized the significance of embodying Christ-like virtues such as love, kindness, and forgiveness during this period.
He urged Nigerians to demonstrate love towards one another, emphasizing that Easter symbolizes the ultimate act of love through Christ’s death and resurrection.
Kalu also encouraged citizens not to lose faith in the country but to continue praying for its progress, unity, and development, highlighting that Christ’s resurrection represents hope and freedom.
Furthermore, he expressed confidence in the Renewed Hope agenda of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led All Progressives Congress (APC) government, assuring citizens of its commitment to fulfilling its promises.
Representing Bende Federal Constituency of Abia State, Kalu reiterated the commitment of the House of Representatives and the National Assembly to enact legislation aimed at positively transforming the country and improving the standard of living for its citizens.
In conclusion, Kalu urged Nigerians to uphold compassion, unity, and peaceful co-existence, while continuing to pray for the nation’s peace, progress, and unity.
