Deputy Speaker Kalu Congratulates Sen. Azuta-Mbata on ohanaeze Ndigbo Presidency


Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, has congratulated Senator John Azuta-Mbata on his unanimous election as the new President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide. This milestone achievement took place at the General Assembly of the apex socio-cultural organization of Ndigbo in Enugu State on Friday.

Kalu commended the organization and the South East Governors’ Forum for ensuring a free and fair election, demonstrating his confidence in Azuta-Mbata’s ability to excel in his new role. Given Azuta-Mbata’s background as a former member of the National Assembly, Kalu believes he will bring valuable experience to the position.

The Deputy Speaker urged Azuta-Mbata to work tirelessly to strengthen unity and faith among the Igbo people, while also building bridges with other socio-cultural groups to maintain peace in the country. He emphasized the need for synergy amongst all stakeholders in Ala Igbo to accelerate the development of the area and its people.

Kalu pledged his support as a worthy ambassador of the Igbo nation, extending the courtesies of his office to the new President-General and the new executive members of the organization. This gesture underscores his commitment to fostering unity and cooperation among the Igbo people.
