The Honourable Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, conducted a significant visit to the military operations theatre in Katsina today, underscoring President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s steadfast commitment to equipping and training the nation’s Armed Forces.
This visit aims to bolster the troops’ combat readiness in the ongoing fight against insurgency and terrorism.
During his address to Operation Hadarin Daji at the 213 Forward Operating Base in Katsina, Minister Abubakar highlighted the remarkable progress made under President Tinubu’s administration in combating insurgency and related crimes.
He urged the troops to maintain their dedication in the battle against insurgency and banditry, praising their sacrifices and unwavering commitment.
In response to the recent tragic incident in Abia State, where soldiers lost their lives, Minister Abubakar reassured the troops and the nation of the government’s resolve to bring the perpetrators to justice and implement measures to prevent such occurrences in the future.
Air Commodore G.I. Jibia, Commanding Air Component of the 213 Forward Operation Hadarin Daji, expressed gratitude for the Minister’s visit, noting that it significantly boosted the morale of the troops.
Prior to visiting the Forward Operating Base, Minister Abubakar engaged in an interactive session with officers and men of the Headquarters of the 17 Brigade of the Nigerian Army and Sector 2 Joint Task Force Operation Hadarin Daji, Katsina.
This discussion was aimed at assessing their preparedness to address security threats in the region.
The Defence Minister also paid a visit to the Nigerian Army Medical Center in Katsina, where he extended his sympathies to military personnel injured in combat operations, acknowledging their bravery and dedication.
This visit reaffirms the administration’s dedication to supporting and empowering the Armed Forces, ensuring they are well-equipped and trained to protect the nation’s security and sovereignty.
