DEFENCE MINISTER PRAISES HUMANITARIAN EFFORTS AS VITAL TO NATIONAL SECURITY


The Honourable Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, has commended the efforts of the Senior Special Adviser to the President on Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Hon. Delu Bulus Yakubu, emphasizing the crucial role her initiatives play in enhancing national security.

During a meeting at Ship House in Abuja, Minister Abubakar highlighted the importance of collaboration between the Ministry of Defence and the Office of the Senior Special Adviser on Humanitarian Affairs.

He stressed that national security extends beyond military strength to include addressing poverty and creating opportunities for citizens.

“The commitment to humanitarian efforts is indispensable for national security,” Minister Abubakar stated.

We recognize that tackling poverty and providing opportunities are critical components of our security strategy.”

The Minister applauded Hon. Yakubu’s dedication to her role and assured her of the Ministry’s readiness to support joint initiatives.

“Your unwavering dedication to humanitarian affairs is commendable, and we look forward to working together on comprehensive strategies that will benefit our nation,” he said.

Hon. Yakubu congratulated Minister Abubakar on his achievements in enhancing the nation’s security framework.

She reiterated the need for ongoing collaboration, underscoring that national security requires a collective effort. “National security is a social service that necessitates the collective efforts of all stakeholders,” she remarked.

She also announced that her office is organizing a joint interactive National Seminar, aimed at bringing together relevant authorities, non-governmental organizations, and security experts to discuss ways to enhance national security through humanitarian services.
