The Minister of Defence, Alhaji Mohammed Badaru has reiterated the commitment of President Bola Tinubu’s led administration to overcome the security challenges bedeviling the nation.
The Minister expressed this when the Jigawa State Governor, Malam Umar Namadi paid him a visit at the Ministry of Defence Headquarters in Abuja.
In an interview with reporters following their meeting, the Minister emphasized the determination of Government to overcome these hurdles.
Badaru who stressed the importance of prayers in facing the nation’s complex security and developmental challenges called for support and prayers from all Nigerians to promote peace and stability.
The Minister who thanked Governor Namadi for leading a high profiled delegation from Jigawa state to visit him urged them to continue praying for the Nation.
“First of all I want to use this opportunity to thank his Excellency Namadi for bringing this large delegation to honour me. I want to thank him for honouring me this way. My appeal to them is to continue to pray for us and the nation so that we will succeed.”
Earlier Governor Namadi stated that a diverse group of Jigawa people, including government officials, traditional leaders, religious figures, and business leaders, had gathered in Abuja to congratulate the former Governor on his appointment as Minister of Defence by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Namadi while praising the Minister’s for his generosity, and dedication to his constituents, expressed confidence in his ability to excel in this new role.
He also emphasized the need for the Minister to prioritise addressing insecurity in Nigeria, noting that success in this area would have a positive impact on all aspects of the nation.
According to Namadi, “Everybody is here, and we are all here to congratulate the Honourable Minister of Defence on his appointment by Mr President. And this is to show how good he was when he was the governor of Jigawa state.
“This is a man that’s very accommodating, a man with a very large heart and a man that always have his people at heart. Therefore, people think that since he has been honoured by the President, then it is also important for us in Jigawa state to come and say congratulations and to also pray for him.
