DECAN Mourns the Passing of Comrade Emeka Amakor’s Mother


In a heartfelt expression of condolence, the Defense Correspondents’ Association of Nigeria (DECAN) has extended its deepest sympathies to Comrade Emeka Amakor, Provost Marshal of the association, following the passing of his beloved mother.

In a press release issued on April 11, 2024, Comrade Ismail Musa, President of DECAN, conveyed the association’s profound sadness at the news of Comrade Emeka’s loss.

Describing the event as “shocking and painful,” the statement expressed solidarity with Comrade Emeka and his family during this difficult time.

Comrade Musa, affectionately known as GOC, offered prayers for the peaceful repose of Comrade Emeka’s mother’s soul and urged divine strength and solace upon the bereaved family.

He emphasized the enduring legacy left behind by ‘Mama’ and encouraged Comrade Emeka to draw strength from her remarkable life.

Highlighting Comrade Emeka’s exemplary qualities as a hardworking, courageous, and dedicated professional, Comrade Musa underscored the profound impact of ‘Mama’s’ influence on her children, affirming that her virtues continue to shine through them.
