The Crime Correspondents Association of Nigeria (CCAN), has congratulated Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Benjamin Hundeyin on his appointment as the new Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO) by the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun.
In a statement signed by its Chairman, Mr. Sam Ogbeifun, the Association described Hundeyin’s appointment as well-deserved, noting that it reflects his professionalism, diligence, and commitment to effective communication within the Nigeria Police Force.
The Association commended Hundeyin’s track record as a seasoned communicator who has consistently built mutual understanding between the Police and the public, while fostering transparency, accountability, and trust.
“As crime correspondents and critical stakeholders in the security and justice sectors, we are confident that his wealth of experience, coupled with his rich academic and professional background, will further enhance the cordial relationship between the Nigeria Police Force and the media,” the statement read.
CCAN expressed optimism that the new Police spokesperson will deepen the culture of openness, inclusivity, and prompt response to media engagements, which it noted are vital for effective policing and credible public relations.
The Association also pledged its continued support to the FPRO’s office in shaping positive narratives, informing the public, and projecting the strides of the Police Force in crime-fighting, law enforcement, and internal security management.
It further prayed for wisdom, strength, and divine guidance for Hundeyin as he assumes his new role, while reaffirming its commitment to work closely with him in the service of the nation.
