The Commissioner of Police for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command, CP Olatunji Disu, has initiated a Tactical Training Refresher Course aimed at enhancing the professionalism and operational efficiency of officers under his command.
The training, launched by CP Disu himself, began with officers directly attached to his office, showcasing his commitment to leading by example.
The program, designed to be implemented in phases, will eventually cover all officers within the Command. Key components include professional communication, tactical operations, and public engagement strategies.
The initiative aligns with the directives of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, and focuses on critical areas such as weapon handling, marksmanship, musketry, and riot control. According to CP Disu, the training is a strategic move to equip officers with the skills needed to address modern policing challenges effectively.
“This program underscores our unwavering commitment to equipping every officer with the tools needed to tackle the evolving demands of policing. By starting with those closest to me, I aim to set a high standard for the entire Command. Ultimately, every officer, across all Divisions and Formations, will benefit from this initiative,” CP Disu stated during the launch.
The training aims to strengthen the FCT Police Command’s capacity to ensure public safety and protect lives and property in the nation’s capital.
The FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, noted that this initiative reflects the Command’s dedication to building a responsive and professional Police force capable of meeting the expectations of the public.
The Tactical Training Refresher Course reinforces the Command’s focus on maintaining discipline, operational readiness, and public trust across the Federal Capital Territory.
