Commodore Aiwuyor Augustine Adams-Aliu has taken over the reins from Rear Admiral Adedotun Ayo-Vaughan, who has been redeployed to Headquarters Naval Training Command as the Chief Staff Officer.
Commodore Adams-Aliu, born on December 15, 1977, in Lagos, brings with him a wealth of experience and expertise to his new role.
Hailing from a family with a journalistic background, he developed a passion for public speaking and media relations early in life.
His educational journey took him from Shepherd Hill Primary School and Kings College Lagos to the Nigerian Defence Academy, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry in 1999.
Commissioned into the Nigerian Navy in 2000, Commodore Adams-Aliu embarked on a distinguished naval career, serving in various capacities both nationally and internationally.
He underwent professional training, including courses at the United States Army Infantry School and the Armed Forces Command and Staff College.
Notably, he graduated from the Naval War College Nigeria and the United States Naval War College, further enhancing his strategic expertise.
Throughout his career, Commodore Adams-Aliu has held key positions, including Watch Keeping Officer, military observer in the United Nations Mission in Liberia, Officer in Charge of Nigerian Navy Ship BENIN, and Squadron Commander of SHALDAG Boat squadron.
His leadership skills were further honed as the Pioneer Commanding Officer of Nigerian Navy Ship KARADUWA and as Principal Staff Officer to the Chief of Defence Staff.
His dedication and accomplishments have been recognized with awards and decorations, including the Passed Staff Course, Meritorious Service Star, and the United Nations Medal.
Commodore Adams-Aliu is also actively involved in professional organizations such as the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations and the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management.
Commodore Adams-Aliu, who is happily married with three children, expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to serve as the Director of Naval Information.
